Someone at work asked me about the ruling legalizing gay marriage in California. Honestly, I do not care either way. I don't belive in heterosexual marriage. But whatevs, yay for those who want it, I guess.

I'm psyched about Chicago. I love going there over Memorial Day, because the weather is usually decent, plus i get to meet people that I only get to chat with online. The only downside is that I'm HORRID at recognizing people in person. Lame, I know, but I am. I'm not staying at the host hotel, but I'll be all over Halstead for 5 days, except for when I'm at the zoo, Shedd,

I was gonna do the whole meme thing, but I don't think anyone really cares where my cell phone is or what I ate last night.

Work is going good, albeit rather buay...I'm being taken off the phones quite a bit to train people, and my new supervisor is having me train 5 members of the team on some systems that the actual trainer does not know. While I'm flattered that she thinks that highly of me, it is getting just a tad hard to keep all my stats up. But since my goal is to get the hell off the phone, I suppose this is just a part of it.

My team lead was all upset because he was called a fag this weekend. I kinda felt bad for him when he was tellingme the story, his eyes were wellingup and everything, but I was surprised to hear him say "I didn't think anyone used that word anymore" WTF?? He is only 21, and while everyone assumes he is gay (you'd have to see him) he says he is not, moot point anyway, no one really cares. Butto think that no one uses the word fag anymore? However, I did have to tell him what "stoned" meant. Seriously.

I also had two dreams this weekend...one with [info]g_e_o_r_g_e and one with [info]that_grr Thesewere both RATHER explicit dreams. :) Haven't had dreams like that for ages.

    Weekend Recap
This weekend was Mr Iowa Leather. I think the weekend actually started on Thursday, but whatevs. *Shrugs* Anyway, here goes.

I popped my sushi cherry Friday night. And it was an actual date. A fella named George here in Des Moines. We went to Appare, a Japanese steakhouse out in the burbs. The restaurant was FREEZING!!!!! Seriously. I was shivering at the table. George did the ordering for us. Crab rolls to start then we each got a combo dinner. Mine was teriyaki chicken with california rolls, shrimp tempura and the little potsticker type things. YUM!

Saturday we went shopping. It was fun hanging around the mall and such people watching and going to Williams Sonoma and Pottery Barn. YAY!! I wish Des Moines would get a Restoration Hardware or a Crate and Barrel.

Saturday was off to the Saddle for the beauty contest, ahem, leather show. There were only three contestants, and one of them was a "straight" guy. One contestant won the title back in 2002, another contestant, which has ran every year, then the straighty. The straight guy won. He made some speech about wanting to "cross boundaries and stereotypes and show 'us' not not all straight people look down on us" What da fuck? It was sad. TO me leather is just another form of drag anyway. The bar was PACKED. Like too packed to walk around hardly at all. And my good friend Greg was supposed to come down for his birthday, but the interstate was 100% ice covered, so he didnt come :(

After the bar, George, Jeff and Jeremy and I went to the IHOP by my house. GHETTO!! The window at the booth we were sitting in had a bullet hole in it. Jeff asked the waitress for a recommendation and she shrugged and said "I dunno" Plus when she brought me my food, her thumb was in a part of my salad. GROSS. And the amount of young kids, like 10 years old, that were out amazed me. This was like 2 am. Granted, it was a Saturday, but still. And the waitress CONSTANTLY twirled her hair around her fingers. Just gross.

Today I didn't do much. Watched Silence Of The Lambs for the first time. I know, I know. LOVED Anthony Hopkins in it. Then watched Hannibal. Odd movie. But I 've been saying all day "It rubs the lotion on the skin" Much to George's delight. LOL. Greg called and we went to the Saddle where I gave him his bday card and gifts. I found these odd little wind up sushi toys at Wal Mart. Greg is a total sushi whore, plus i got him a Maxine card that talks...LOVE Maxine. The beer bust was lame, so then we all went to Cici's Pizza. Yumola and DAYUM cheap.

    Ciao kittens

    I HEART this

GEORGE CARLIN'S NEW RULES FOR 2008

    New Rule:
No more gift registries. You know, it used to be just for weddings. Now it's for babies and new homes and graduations from rehab. Picking out the stuff you want and having other people buy it for you isn't gift giving, it's the white people's version of looting.

    New Rule:
Stop giving me that pop-up ad for classmates.com! There's a reason you don't talk to people for 25 years. Because you don't particularly like them! Besides, I already know what the captain of the football team is doing these days --- mowing my lawn.

    New Rule:
Don't eat anything that's served to you out a window unless you're a seagull. People are acting all shocked that a human finger was found in a bowl of Wendy's chili. Hey, it cost less than a dollar. What did you expect it to contain... Lobster?

    New Rule:
Stop saying that teenage boys who have sex with their hot, blonde teachers are permanently damaged. I have a better description for these kids: 'Lucky bastards.'

    New Rule:
If you need to shave and you still collect baseball cards, you're a dope. If you're a kid, the cards are keepsakes of your idols. If you're a grown man, they're pictures of men.

    New Rule:
Ladies, leave your eyebrows alone. Here's how much men care about your eyebrows: Do you have two of them? Good, we're done.

    New Rule:
There's no such thing as flavored water. There's a whole aisle of this crap at the supermarket. Water, but, without that watery taste. Sorry, but flavored water is called a soft drink. You want flavored water? Pour some scotch over ice and let it melt. That's your flavored water.

    New Rule:
Stop screwing with old people. Target is introducing a redesigned pill bottle that's square, with a bigger label. And the top is now the bottom. And by the time grandpa figures out how to open it, his ass will be in the morgue. Congratulations, Target, you just solved the Social Security crisis.

    New Rule:
The more complicated the Starbucks order, the bigger the asshole. If you walk into a Starbucks and order a 'decaf grandee, half-soy, half-low fat, iced vanilla, double-shot, gingerbread cappuccino, extra dry, light ice, with one Sweet-n'-Low, and One NutraSweet, 'Ooooh, you're a huge asshole.

    New Rule:
I'm not the cashier! By the time I look up from sliding my card, entering My PIN number, pressing 'Enter,' verifying the amount, deciding, no, I don't want cash back, and pressing 'Enter' again, the kid who is supposed to be ringing me up is standing there eating my Almond Joy.

    New Rule:
Just because your tattoo has Chinese characters in it doesn't make you Spiritual. It's right above the crack of your ass. And it translates to 'beef with broccoli.' The last time you did anything spiritual, you were praying to God you weren't pregnant. You're not spiritual. You're just high.

    New Rule:
Competitive eating isn't a sport. It's one of the seven deadly sins. ESPN Recently televised the U.S Open of Competitive Eating, because watching those athletes at the poker table was just too damned exciting. What's next, competitive farting? Oh wait, they're already doing that. It's called 'The Howard Stern Show.'

    New Rule:
When I ask how old your toddler is, I don't need to hear '27 months.' 'He's two' will do just fine. He's not a cheese. And I didn't really care in the first place.

    New Rule:
If you ever hope to be a credible adult and want a job that pays better than minimum wage, then for God's sake don't pierce or tattoo every available piece of flesh. If so, then plan your future around saying, 'Do you want fries with that?

So today was my first day at Jack's Gym....which is the gym that Wells Fargo sponsors. It is damn cheap, 15 a month, and while it doesnt have a pool, it is still s decent gym. Although the woman working there is a total see you next tuesday. She kept on saying that I HAVE, MUST, NEED a supervised workout. I'm all like, "Bitch, I know how to run on a treadmill and work a nautilus machine" Whatevs. I like the gym in spite of her. The main gym guy there with the massive forearms stated I could workout unsupervised since I wasn't a heart attack risk. Yay for not being clinically obese.

I will be visiting LA on Halloween weekend, hanging with [info]sarcastikub and [info]design_bear I'll be out there for five days and hopefully will get to meet some new peeps since I'll be with Julie the cruise director, aka Jason.

This weekend is the Iowa Leather Weekend where Mr Iowa Leather is crowned or whatever. And yes, it is as sad as it sounds. Last year two people ran. And the people that run the leatherclub are also drag queens for the most part. It's like pick a damn subculture and stick with it, douchewaffles.

Is anyone going to Bear Pride/IML this year? I HEART Chicago, so I think I'm gonna try to go. TBRU is still kinda up in the air, not sure if I can get that weekend off work yet or not. My Mom got two free airline tickets to use, so we are planning to go to San Franscisco mid-May. Plus I plan on flying out to Los Angeles this fall to see [info]sarcastikub and [info]design_bear. Of course I would love to see them in May as well.

Who wants to see me naked? lol Just kiddin, yo
