I think im gonna give LJ another go...it was alwayw therapeutic for me to rant on here....I love Facebook, but it doesn't give me much option to actually vent, think and contemplate life. Plus, I've missed blogging.

And the rumors are true, I actually saw the high heeled crocs at the mall yesterday. Seriously. What da fuck? Who thinks up this shit?

This has been a really fun summer so far. George and I went to Chicago for Pride, and then we are going back for Market Days. There wasn't time to get my tattoo at the Tattoo FActory last time, so hopefully I can squeeze it in this trip. Plus the bars were CRAZY packed for Pride, so hopefully I can go to a couple of my Halstead haunts as well. Then we are going to Southern Decadence. It will be my first time in the Sodom of the South, so I cannot wait.

George got a new phone today, some T-Mobile G1 thing, so he has been playing with it all afternoon :) AWWWWW. I'm thinking about getting a new phone, mine is about 2.5 years old andis just your basic flip phone with a camera, but I'm thinking of getting something more internet friendly for more random Facebook posts and shit. Who knows, I'm very technologically challenged, and too many bells ans whistles tend to zone me out. I think this stems from growing up with an avocado rotary dial phone and no video games. MY favorite video game is either Zuma or Tetris. That's how lame I am.

Have you ever noticed the people that state they "hate drama" are always the ones starting it? Jesus....It's been ages since I've posted anything, and while I do heart Facebook, I'm gonna try to keep up this thing...again.

So I know I'm a complete asshole, but today at work, about 11:30 they called an "immediate emergency meeting" which is never good, I totally thought they were getting rid of my department or something drastic, but here was the news...

This guy, whom I barely know, and has nothing to do with my department really, just found out he and his wife was pregnant about 4 weeks ago. I guess they had a doctors appointment today and she lost the baby. That was the meeting. WTF? First of all, she was about a month along, so it's not like this is uncommon. Second of all, he should have waited to tell people she was knocked up until she was past her first trimester, just to be on the safe side. They have been trying to have a kid for about 5 years, and while this is sad, I do not feel they should have pulled us away from work for it. They are even going to chip in and buy them a gift. WHAT?? A miscarriage gift?!? What would you even buy someone? And the parents are having a memorial. For a month old fetus. I just don't get it. The guy is taking three week off work for it. And the second it was announced, all the women started bawling. It was just an awkward moment, he called from the doctors office and wanted to have an announcement made. He also sent out an email to the department when they first found out stating where they were registered for baby things. Tool.

Yes, I know I'm callous about most things, but come on....give me a break.

So Milk came and went in Des Moines and I didnt get to see it...George didn't wanna go cause he hates Sean Penn...despite the fact that i sat through The Incredible Hulk, Hellboy II, Iron Man and Journey To The Center of the Earth for him. I guess I'll just catch it when it comes out on DVD. He is so uninterested in gay history, I have a ton of books about famous gay historical figures, and the gay history of SF and NYC, and he couldn't care less. It takes all kinds though, he is a SciFi NERD who watches Dr Who and those HORRID SciFI channel movies with all the amateurish computer animation. Cest La Vie.

I have a total crush on Genevieve Gorder. I love her new show, plus I think I'm gettinga crush on Sophie Allsop, the British chick from The Unsellables. I'm rapidly becoming addicted to HGTV.

I'm going to Southern Decadence this year...My cousin and her husband have a house near the Quarter, and they go to the parade every year. Plus I think George and I are going to go to Vegas sometime next month. I've never been, and i guess its way cheaper if you go during the week and dont stay over a weekend. I dont really care when we go, i just wanna see the strip and such

Ryans was SUCH a disappontment...that restaurant has went DOWNHILL since I was there last....such odd combinations of foods, such as pork ribs with summer sausage, and shrimp and corn...it was odd.

Finally having the January thaw....I'm SO sick of winter.

Has anyone ever done Tae-Bo a friend of mine wants me to take a class with her two nights a week
10:51 am
Went to go see Bride Wars yesterday.....it was good, although that Kristen check from Third Rock from the Sun is SKINNY!!!, I know there issomething medically wrongwith her, but DAYUM....Holy Clavicles.

I really wanna go to Mexico to see some ruins and hang by the ocean sometime this year, (hopefully) but NO ONE I know wants to go, like nobody. I couldn't believe it. It's so on my to-do list, and I don't really wanna go by myself, but it looks like I'm gonna have to. :(

I'm so craving Ryan's, so I bugged George until he relented and me are gonna go have lunch there, YAY!!!!

This is gonna be a kinda morbid post, but I thought I'd let some LJ people know. cubia died this week, I believe either sunday or monday, I know some of you have him on your friends list, and may be wondering what happened to him. You can see his obit at amestribune.com. The rumor mill (vicious as it can be) is saying he committed suicide, but I do not know at all what happened. Just thought I'd put the word out to his LJ friends

Happy New Years bitches!!

Hope everyone had a good last night, whatever you chose to do...I had a little small get together last night. George and I had Greg and Leslie over, then our pal Chris came over a little later, it was small and perfect, sometime large parties are a little too much. Greg brought his Wii, so we all bowled and played tennis. George and I went grocery shopping after work, since when did Absolut become so damn expensive? I think the bottle was 45 bucks or something like that. And did Captain Morgan quit making Tattoo, the non-spiced rum?

We caught the last part of Kathy Griffin and Anderson Coopers show....i LOVED it when they were cutting to commercial and Kathy yelled "Do I come to your work and knock the dicks out of your mouths?" I almost pissed myself laughing.

I think i want to get a Wii, but I'm not sure. I'm gonna sound like a total geek here, but something I wanna try in 2009 is yoga. And I know with Wii fit you can do yoga. Anyone still reading my journal do yoga? And if so, what is your take on it? I'm also thinking about buying the Lose 30 Pounds in 30 Days from Rocco Castellano. A woman I work with got it and she said it is hard as hell, but totally worth it. Greg got his Wii at Sams Club for 250.00, so I dunno....I wonder who much i would use it. I looked into Yoga classes here in Des Moines, but they are either at 5 or 6 in the morning, or at noon, or 10 at night. None of those times really work for me.

I also looked into taking a pottery class....holy shitbags, it was 600 dollars for a 9 week course. Of course that included all clay and kiln work, but still. I used to play around with potters wheels in high school and college and really liked it, but i hate to pay 600 bucks for it. I dont think tuition reimbursement at work will cover a class like that.

ANywho, I really like my new job, there is a lot more work to do, but it is way more laid back then the customer service hell i came from.

Does anyone else think that the instruction manuals than come with APlle products are worthless?

Random musings
This is the first time that I have lived in an actual apartment building, and I thought it would be interesting, but so far it hasn't been. No one here is friendly. I smile and say hi to people in the building and they look at me like I just projectile vomited on the floor. The next door neighbors moved out and I think some Indian guy has moved in, but I'm not sure. I'm also pretty sure me and some lady that lives on the third floor are the only ones who use the laundry room. Whatevs.

Dolly was FABULOUS. George and I took our cameras, but so many of them were confiscated that we decided notto risk it. We also got t shirt for 15 bucks a piece since it was her last concert of the BAckwoods Barbie tour and they were trying to get rid of them.

I got to hang out with design_bear and his bf Mike a couple weeks ago. It snowed for the first time for the year, I think to herald the arrival of the Malibu Barbies :)

Thanksgiving was ok..I'm not much of a holiday kinda guy.

Hello everyone....GOd I know I keep saying I'm gonna keep up on postingand then it never happens. Sheesh

My goal this weekend is to take somepics of my new apartment to post, in case anyone is curious...other than that, I've been lazy.

Since I only live 4 miles from work, i'm biking to work. It takes about 35 minutes, mostly bike trails and I really like it. I've also started running again cause I truly want to do the Dam to Dam race the first saturday in June. I have wanted to do it for the last 2 years, and just haven't. 2009 here I come.

Finally am livingon my own after almost three years in Des Moines. ROomies can be fun and all, but for the most part, they get on my fucking nerves. So, I'm on my own in a two bedroom apartment in West Des Moines and LOVING it. THe last room mate situation just got bad, and I'm not gonna air it all out online, but let's just say people can change a LOT fasater than you think. But whatevs, bygones. The boon to my moving is everything I like is on the west side of town and I am riding my bike to work. For two reasons, I only live 4 miles away and I wanna lose some damn weight.

Another big update is that I'm dating someone, for about 8 months now. His name is George and I think he is just a super great all around guy. Now that I finally have reliable internet again, I'm gonna be posting a ton of pics and shit, so, y'all will get to see what he looks like.

What else? I no longer work in customer service, thank jebus....that job was really making me hate people. I transferred over to the probate department. A lot less stress and why more laid back.

George and I went to Iowa City last weekend and saw KATHY GRIFFIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I HEART her, so fucking funny. The only downside was the venue was so freaking hot, but mild annoyance to see her. Then we came home on sunday and saw Walking With Dinosaurs, which was an awesome show.

Dolly Parton is coming to Des Moines next month and we have our tickets...SQUEALS

Sorry I've been so outta touch, but I'll be back to my usual cynical online self now MUAH

Ciao kittens

Someone at work asked me about the ruling legalizing gay marriage in California. Honestly, I do not care either way. I don't belive in heterosexual marriage. But whatevs, yay for those who want it, I guess.

I'm psyched about Chicago. I love going there over Memorial Day, because the weather is usually decent, plus i get to meet people that I only get to chat with online. The only downside is that I'm HORRID at recognizing people in person. Lame, I know, but I am. I'm not staying at the host hotel, but I'll be all over Halstead for 5 days, except for when I'm at the zoo, Shedd,

I was gonna do the whole meme thing, but I don't think anyone really cares where my cell phone is or what I ate last night.

Work is going good, albeit rather buay...I'm being taken off the phones quite a bit to train people, and my new supervisor is having me train 5 members of the team on some systems that the actual trainer does not know. While I'm flattered that she thinks that highly of me, it is getting just a tad hard to keep all my stats up. But since my goal is to get the hell off the phone, I suppose this is just a part of it.

My team lead was all upset because he was called a fag this weekend. I kinda felt bad for him when he was tellingme the story, his eyes were wellingup and everything, but I was surprised to hear him say "I didn't think anyone used that word anymore" WTF?? He is only 21, and while everyone assumes he is gay (you'd have to see him) he says he is not, moot point anyway, no one really cares. Butto think that no one uses the word fag anymore? However, I did have to tell him what "stoned" meant. Seriously.

I also had two dreams this weekend...one with g_e_o_r_g_e and one with that_grr Thesewere both RATHER explicit dreams. :) Haven't had dreams like that for ages.
